We met Michele Winter after months of searching for a high calibre trainer to deliver our Safeguarding training. Michele began running tailored training sessions for us in July 2017 and we soon realised what a consummate professional she is. Her level of knowledge, skill and experience is impressive and she has a real ability to teach

Team feedback was outstanding, everyone felt they learnt something new and had better knowledge and tools to deal with safeguarding.  Many have started reading the links you provided to improve their understanding and the delivery of the course was spot on!  It is rare for me to get such consistent feedback form the whole team!  Thank you so much, it is exactly what we wanted and needed!

Virtual training (via Zoom) can seem daunting and unfamiliar.  However, Michele creates a safe and supportive space for learning and reflection.  Michele is so empathetic and engaging, making you instantly feel at ease.  She splits the sessions up to include a balanced mix of own learning, open discussion and teaching.  Michele encourages case discussion, offering learners opportunity to apply her teaching to practice.  Michele's training offers a variety of learning opportunities such as a case law, theory and statute.  I always come away with lots of tools and techniques to use in practice which have been invaluable in supporting me develop my practice as an NQSW.

Michele facilitated a joint Local Safeguarding Children and Adult Boards stakeholder event for B&NES, the first of its kind, on Domestic Abuse and Think Family.  Michele has a wealth of knowledge and experience in supporting service-users and families living with domestic violence and abuse and delivering training to professionals.  It was challenging to manage the breadth of professional backgrounds however she managed this effortlessly and with humility.
Lesley Hutchinson, Head of Safeguarding and Quality Assurance, Bath and North East Somerset

Michele has contributed to the delivery of the MSc in Social Work at the University of Bristol over a number of years. This has included formal teaching, facilitating seminars and tutoring. Her contribution has been evaluated very highly by both students and staff with adjectives such as 'stimulating', 'knowledgeable' and 'engaging' regularly used to describe Michele's teaching.

Michele gave a bespoke training course to our therapists and proved to be an accomplished trainer.  She assessed the level of knowledge and expertise in the room and astutely pitched the content at the right level as well as ensuring that the examples used were directly relevant to our work.
Michelle Windle, Director, The Green House, Bristol

...Michele has provided a number of Safeguarding training courses for our staff.  I have received nothing but positive feedback from our staff.  Michele is a fantastic training facilitator and her approach is informative, friendly and interactive.

...Michele has delivered three training sessions to Lighthouse Safeguarding Unit Teams, all of which have been of excellent quality and  consistency.  The feedback from the staff has been fantastic with them taking lot  of new information away and updating their existing understanding.  Michele's training style allows for direct theory learning but also has enough case studies and experience to be able to go off normal structure, this allows for conversations and debates to flow.  The subjects Michele taught (Safeguarding Adults and Children) can at times be hard to listen to however Michele's style means staff feel confident and relaxed...

MENTORING, SUPERVISION & COACHING

Michele brings consistency and structure to the support she offers our Management Team.  She provides a safe and structured space to explore some of the daily, risky and complex issues that routinely arise when supporting young people who need support around their emotional and mental health wellbeing, and she helps individuals come up with practical solutions to move forward.  Michele promotes an open dialogue and self care is at the forefront of the discussion.
Karen Black, Chief Executive, Off the Record, Bristol

Michele’s continual encouragement and guidance enabled me to grow considerably as a student and as a social worker.  I feel extremely lucky to have had such a high standard of support and valuable learning.  I truly believe that this experience will go some way to helping me to be prepared for my third and final year
Helen Swain, former Social Work Student, University of Bath

My experience of being mentored by Michele has not only increased my confidence but also spurred me on to continue to seek out new and exciting CPD opportunities.  Without this positive support I would not have achieved a portfolio to the standard I have; or passed my ASYE feeling as fulfilled and happy with the work and effort I put in, as I do
Sarah Kent, Social Worker, Bristol City Council

I feel Michele has enabled me to remember the reasons I wanted to be a social worker in the first place.  When we met I was almost ready to leave...with her support I now feel that...I can be confident in my role.  I am more aware of processes, policies, knowledge, skills and how to get support if I need it
Louise Amos, Social Worker, Bristol, City Council

Michele was able to both lead and guide me with just the right balance of support, reflection and constructive criticism. Michele helped inspire and boost my confidence when I was flagging and keep me on task. Michele's guidance culminated in helping to achieve a significant outcome in the development of a specific piece of organisation training
